Welcome to the Seekt Quick Guide series. In this episode, we are looking at the item library — a feature that helps you build hunts faster over time.
The item library has two parts: a built-in collection and your own personal collection.
The built-in library comes with twenty ready-to-use scavenger hunt items. These cover a range of common activities — finding something of a particular colour, photographing a landmark, collecting a natural object, recording a short video, taking a creative team photo. They are designed to work in most outdoor settings and can be used as-is or as a starting point that you modify.
When you are adding an item to a hunt, tap the library icon at the top of the screen. You will see the bundled items and any items you have saved yourself. Tap one to load it into your item form. The clue, hints, point value, and other settings are filled in for you. Adjust whatever you like, then save.
Your personal library grows over time. When you create an item that you think you might use again, tap "Save to Library" in the item editor. The clue, text hints, points, and collect flag are saved as a reusable template. The next time you design a hunt, that item is waiting for you in the library.
This is especially useful if you host events regularly. A team-building facilitator might build up a library of fifty or sixty proven items over time. A teacher might have a set of campus-specific items. A family might have their favourite birthday party challenges saved and ready to go.
You can also delete items from your personal library if you no longer need them. The bundled items cannot be removed.
The library pairs well with hunt duplication. If you duplicate a hunt, you get a copy of all its items. But if you just want to pull a few items into a new hunt, the library is the faster path.
